Dupioni Silks

Silk dupioni or sometimes called dupion or douppioni, is a type of silk woven with two different colors together. When the two different shades of one color are combined, the silk seems to have an iridescent shimmer. How is Silk Dupioni woven? Two different silkworms spin one cocoon together, creating a very tough strand of double silk. This rough silk is then dyed to make silk dupioni, a weaver will take different thread colors of rough silk fiber. The result is a sumptuous, shimmering piece of fabric.

We use the finest of these silks to create our our beautiful Bridal Clutches & Accessories. You will find most of our linings for our clutches and accessories are made from this beautiful silk.
